PLANETARY MOVEMENTS WITHIN THE SOLAR SYSTEM RELATIVE TO THE STAR FIELD
There is order in the night sky with the exception of a few neighboring planets and big asteroids which
are members of our Solar System and to early man their orbits weren't easily predictable over the coarse
of a year.  The nearby planets Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and our moon were the wild cards in the
scheme of things.  Because of different orbital speeds, their movements relative to the backdrop of stars
and their movements relative to each other appeared unusual to earth bound observers.   However, they
received a lot of attention from early sky watchers and a great deal of significance was read into their
movements and their relationship to each other.
